Welcome to Our Family
Welcome to the Anderson families Timber Trails Goldens. We live in a small rural town in Athol, Massachusetts. We live on 4.5 acres and have a huge yard for our dogs to run. We live within walking distance to Tully Lake where our dogs can go swimming and hiking! We pride ourselves in being preservation breeders of quality “American Standard” Golden Retrievers. We have owned, raised and bred Golden Retrievers for over 40 years and we strive to produce healthy, well-adjusted, family friendly dogs.
We are different than most breeders in that our dogs live with us in our home. We are not a kennel! These dogs are our pets and they are loved and cared for like our children from the time they are pups and for their entire life. Our dogs live with us in our home and are part of everyday life.
All of our dogs hold titles or certificates in some AKC sport or event. We work with our dogs to determine what they excel in. All of our dogs are Certified Pet Therapy Dogs through Alliance Therapy Dogs and have made many visits to nursing homes, schools, hospitals and libraries to bring smiles to many faces. Donna (Owner) is also a Certified Dog Trainer, an AKC evaluator for Canine Good Citizen, STAR PUPPY, Pet Therapy Trainer and observer and also an AKC Farm Dog Judge. We keep our dogs very busy.
Our oldest, precious girl “Tellie” is a “hero” in the Golden Retriever Lifetime Study. We couldn’t be more proud of her. www.grls.morrisanimalfoundation.org
All of our dogs have their hips, eyes and cardiac certified with OFA. Their eyes are certified by an ophthalmologist and their heart certified by a cardiologist. All health clearances can be confirmed on the OFA site. We also do genetic testing for our dogs. We only breed dogs with all of these clearances and will match our breeding dogs to improve the breed.
Our litters are born in our home. Our puppies are handled with love at an early age. We begin socializing them before they open their eyes! All of our puppies have complete and thorough examinations by our veterinarian at 7 weeks of age. They are guaranteed to be in great health when they leave our home.
There is nothing more precious than the love and companionship a golden will bring to your home!
